In late October, Barnebys reported about the upcoming sale conducted by RM Sotheby's that will feature a white Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary screen-used in the 2013 classic The Wolf of Wall Street. The auction takes place on December 8, and the car is estimated to sell between $1.5 to $2 million.

The car was driven by the Academy Award-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio while portraying the famed stockbroker Jordan Belfort. In the movie, the audience can see that the car was carelessly driven by DiCaprio's character while being highly narcotized, hence the car crashing multiple times.

To clarify – the movie features two Lambos of the same year and model. Both cars were used while filming the movie, and both can be seen on screen. One was destroyed while filming; and the other one remained intact. RM Sotheby's is selling the car that's intact and still drivable.

Now, we can report that the other white Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary from the same movie has also hit the auction block. With the same estimate, $1.5 to $2 million, Bonhams is selling the destroyed car in their November 25 auction.

A coincidence or a master plan? The fact that both cars are for sale at the same time is very remarkable. Collectors are discussing whether this was planned or if it's simply a coincidence. The answer may never be revealed.

However, it's nearly impossible to know if this will be positive or negative for the sales. One car is fully functional and can be used and driven by the highest bidder. In contrast, the other car can only be displayed as a piece of art. Therefore, the cars could attract a different clientele. It's indeed interesting that both cars have the same estimate, but time will tell which one will get the highest hammer price. Is it the car that can still be driven – or the one that can't?
