Discover with us six of the many highlights you can bid on:

Our first highlight is part of the Classical Works of Art auction, which features 74 works ranging from Renaissance Masters to Modern Art. This rural scene was executed by a follower of Jacopo da Ponte, also called 'Bassano' after his birthplace, who was an Italian Mannerist painter who lived and worked in the Republic of Venice in the 16th century. Da Ponte's oeuvre consists primarily of religious and rural motifs, which he repeatedly combined.

Sneakers are still a fairly new field of collectibles, but Catawiki is devoting a whole separate auction to them on its No Reserve Day. One of the top lots is this pair of Louis Vuitton sneakers, a model of the Nike Air Force 1 shoe, originally launched in 1982 by designer Virgil Abloh (†2021) for the Louis Vuitton Spring-Summer 2022 collection. For the design in blue and white, materials were used that Abloh had also used for the men's collection.

This rare pair of chrysanthemum-shaped plates, dating from the Kangxi period (1662-1722) of the Qing dynasty, is a noteworthy mention in the Art and Antiquities from China auction. It bears the underglaze blue mark with a hare and moon in a double circle on the back of the plates. The fine motifs in the Famille Verte style are hand-painted and show aquatic plants and butterflies.

Car collectors and enthusiasts will find their happy place in the 34-lot Classic Car auction. Featured in this sale are collectible vehicles from brands such as Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar and Ford (the latter in the form of a red-painted 1966 Mustang). Another red speedster is the Maserati Bora, which is one of the Italian supercars of the early 1970s. Only 250 copies were built in the present 4.9 Enhanced version, which makes this Maserati Bora very rare to come by.

In the Early Historical Treasures auction we will find this very rare terracotta temple foundation stone. During the reign of Nebuchadnezzar II, mentioned in the Old Testament, the construction of the Hanging Gardens of Semiramis, the Ischtar city gate and the final construction phase of the Tower of Babel as well as the destruction of the first Jerusalem temple took place.

Another highlight is the catalogue raisonné of Pablo Picasso’s lithographs up to 1963, published by Fernand Mourlot between 1949 and 1964 – offered in the 130-lot auction of Art and Photography Books. The four volumes cover the periods 1919-1947, 1947-1949, 1949-1965 and 1956-1963. The volumes are illustrated with eight lithographs that were engraved especially for these volumes, with only 2,500 copies printed.
