Between August 1st and August 5th, both Bidhaus and Mynt Auctions offer series that are not to be missed. Comprised of five live auctions each, the two houses offer a chance to claim true one-of-a-kind pieces: one would be hard-pressed to find others of their caliber.

Designer accessories take center stage in Bidhaus’s five-day series. Featuring everything from utilitarian shoulder bags to purses for the sophisticate, from mountaineering watches to dainty jewels and chains, there is, truly, something for everyone. Only a quick perusal through the Bidhaus catalog illustrates the brilliance of their offerings. Their sale boasts such brands as Tiffany & Co, Cartier, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Rolex, Valentino, BVLGARI, Chanel, Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Salvatore Ferragamo, and more.

Remarkably, that’s only the beginning of their offerings. Iconic pieces—the stuff of fashion lore and legend—have also found their way into the Bidhaus sale. In just the first page or two of the catalog, several Birkins and Kellys make their appearance. Named after two icons themselves (actresses Jane Birkin and Grace Kelly), the handbags, as useful as they are beautiful, are the perfect status symbol for any fashionista. On the traditionally masculine side of dress, the Rolex Explorer and Cartier Tank shine. Worn to the top of Mt. Everest and on the battlefields of the World Wars, these symbols are hardy, sleek, and elegant. And, of course, one would be remiss to ignore the stunning iconography of Tiffany jewels. Bidhaus offers much from the classic luxury jeweler: from minimalist bracelets to luminous earrings, there is no doubt one will sparkle.

Clearly, Bidhaus’s series is not one to be missed.

Mynt’s own five-day series is just as spectacular. Their focus lies in the realm of antiques and vintage silverware; ultra-rare, many of these pieces are signed, the originals from a century-ago creation. Within this sale, one can find silver treasures from Tiffany & Co, Whiting, Gorham, Lunt, Puiforcat, Towle, Unger, Garrard & Co, Georg Jensen, and Watson. And that is but the start of their offerings.

The silver featured in Mynt’s five days reaches back into the 19th century, yet still holds its luminescence. There are sets of Art Deco illustration from Leroy & Cie Pault, an Elizabethan-inspired service from Garrard & Co, gilded flatware from Christofle, a lovely Jensen set entitled “Acanthus,” and a stunning epergne from the Georgian period. One feels as the nobility of old did, looking upon these sets. Each would make a lovely addition to a home, bringing with it the story of years of history; they would shine brilliantly as both conversation starter and utility utilization.

Presenting pieces from England, France, Germany, and the Netherlands, among other nations, Mynt’s sale truly offers the grandest and most talented of silversmithing. These artisans still hold renown as the greatest to craft their art. No one should miss the chance to own and treasure their work.

As one can easily see, Bidhaus and Mynt are the ones to frequent this month!
