Christmas may still be more than seven weeks away, but it’s never too early to prepare for the year’s biggest exchange of gifts – whether for someone special or for yourself. Anyone looking for something truly distinctive should explore Catawiki’s current Exclusive Selection, where renowned names meet exceptional quality.
Here are six standout pieces from the collection.

Fabergé has always been a name to conjure with – evoking images of palaces, exquisite craftsmanship and glittering jewels. The “Fabergé Visionnaire Diamond Baguette Bezel Watch” lives up to that reputation. Twenty-eight baguette-cut diamonds circle the bezel, while a flying tourbillon sits at the centre within a platinum case. This rare timepiece, created by the master watchmakers Renaud & Papi, is limited to just fifteen examples.

“Attrape-moi… si tu m’aimes” (“Catch me… if you love me”) was Chaumet’s 2007 collection – a playful challenge to hesitant lovers. The design draws inspiration from the delicate structure of a spider’s web. This example, a gold necklace with a pendant set with about 225 brilliant-cut diamonds totalling around 1.5 carats, shows the refined elegance that has characterised the House of Chaumet since its founding in 1780 by Marie-Étienne Nitot, court jeweller to Napoleon I.

Around the same time, the Parisian bronzier Charles Galle was establishing his workshop, which became known for its artistic clocks. L’Oubli du Temps (“The Forgetting of Time”), created around 1805 from a design by Galle, displays the time through two rotating rings – an unusual feature even today. The mechanism was later updated with a Japy Frères movement from the late nineteenth century.

For over a century, the Murano glassmaker Venini has worked with many celebrated artists and designers, producing pieces that are now highly collectable. In the 1990s, Venini collaborated with fashion designer Gianni Versace to create three mouth-blown vases in a vivid Pop Art style. Catawiki is offering the rare chance to acquire all three together.

For those drawn to music rather than glass or gold, there is a first-class concert grand piano from Petrof. The company, based in Hradec Králové in the Czech Republic, was founded in 1864 by Antonín Petrof, who trained in Vienna and became a purveyor to the Imperial and Royal Court in 1899. Today, Petrof remains Europe’s leading piano manufacturer, known for its warm tone and meticulous craftsmanship.

The final highlight is a beautifully restored 1964 Porsche 356 SC 1600 in its original colour and in excellent condition. What makes it especially rare is the factory-fitted sunroof – a feature found on only about seven per cent of 356 SC models. To add to its appeal, the car is being offered without reserve.
The Exclusive Selection auctions conclude on November 8th and 9th.
