A little early 17th Century Table Box, German, probably Nuremberg c.1610; the piece measures approx. 10 1/2 inches wide, 8 inches high and 6 inches deep; constructed of ebony with inlaid ivory in diamond shaped patterns; inside the box there is an arrangement of 6 drawers around a central compartment, each of which and the fall front have beautifully engraved gilt metal panels.

Mid-17th century Oak desk box, Lancashire, circa 1660-1670. The sloped lidded box with bold applied moldings to the top, with inscribed initials "E W" having traces of original inlays, flanking the original iron butterfly hinges. Above a front panel elaborately carved with tulips, thistles, carnations, roses and pears. The interior with three original fitted drawers retaining original fruitwood knobs.

A pair of early English antique sterling silver boxes with lift off lids. Plain octagonal form. The tops have a hand engraved armorial within plumage feathers, typical of the Charles II/James II period. These unusual miniature toilet jars are very charming. Superb antique colour. At this date boxes of this type would have originally been part of an extensive toilet service. Total weight 148 grams, 4.7 troy ounces. Height 6cm. Diameter of lid 3.8cm. Great War 1914-15 Star Medal Trio 10th London Regiment, awarded to “1652 PTE C A WYER 10-LOND R”. Medals are accompanied by part of the original forwarding box. Private Charles Andrew Wyer was from Dalston. He landed with the regiment at Gallipoli on the 10th August 1915, he was wounded by gunshot in the right arm on 17th August 1915. He was discharged in 1916. He was awarded the silver war badge due to his wound.
