Yana Medow - Five Minutes Ago XXL

Five Minutes Ago is an original oil painting by contemporary artist Yana Medow, featuring an eccentric white poodle standing upright like a human, nervously checking the time on its wristwatch. Set against a vivid red background, the character combines exaggerated proportions, oversized floppy ears and a wonderfully expressive face. Its anxious gaze and impatient posture capture a familiar modern feeling: the conviction that everyone else is running late. With a playful blend of surrealism, humour and expressive figurative painting, Medow transforms an ordinary moment into a charming, absurd little drama. The contrast between the poodle’s soft white figure and the intense red background gives the composition a bold visual impact. Both whimsical and relatable, Five Minutes Ago invites viewers to imagine the story behind this peculiar character. Is it late for an important appointment, waiting impatiently for someone, or simply convinced that time should move faster? An original contemporary artwork for collectors who appreciate imaginative animal portraits, quirky characters and art with a distinctive sense of humour. Original contemporary painting. Oil on canvas. This one-of-a-kind original painting on unstretched canvas. The painting will be shipped via courier service in a tube. Unframed.
