Dating from approximately 1900–1910, this elegant pedestal stand is a wonderful example of German Jugendstil craftsmanship, combining refined silver-plated metalwork with a removable decorative ceramic insert. Design and craftsmanship The centerpiece displays the flowing, organic lines and stylised floral ornamentation characteristic of the Jugendstil movement. The beautifully executed pedestal base features delicate raised floral motifs, reminiscent of budding flowers, arranged in a harmonious geometric composition. The slender, tapered stem is enhanced by finely engraved horizontal bands.
