Wall lamp - Monumental French-style wall lantern with pressed glass

Very richly executed wall lantern in French neobaroque style. The lantern is constructed from clear, faceted/pressed glass in a heavy metal frame with warm bronze-colored patina. Notable are the beautifully worked ornaments: floral garlands, acanthus leaves, openwork edge decorations, and a centrally placed ram's head with horns. The wall bracket and the graceful underside are also particularly intricately designed. Dating: presumably the second half of the 20th century, made after a 19th-century French model.
