Wahl Eversharp - Skyline - Fountain pen

A0000005818 Fountain Pen WAHL-EVERSHARP SKYLINE BLACK (USA, 1940s): We present at auction an indisputable icon of twentieth-century aerodynamic design: the Wahl-Eversharp Skyline. Designed by Henry Dreyfuss, this historic piece was the best-selling writing instrument in the United States during the 1940s. It is a instrument with dimensions of [Introduce length] cm in length (closed) and a thickness at its widest point of [Introduce thickness] cm. This unit in particular comes in the most classic, sober, and elegant finish of the range: solid black on both the body and cap, contrasting with the characteristic clip over the dome and the gold-plated side lever. The peculiarity of this piece lies in its original nib: forged in solid 14-karat gold, it bears the coveted designation "MANIFOLD". In the golden age of writing, these rigid and robust nibs were designed specifically to withstand the heavy pressure required to write on tracing paper (carbon copies), which today makes them ideal for users who write quickly and firmly or for left-handed writers, as they offer an unbroken and smooth line. Condition (Expert Review) Prospective bidders are invited to closely examine the photographic gallery, which forms part of the description. Celluloid and Metal: The body retains an excellent shine. The gold plating shows a good overall condition. Expert note: As seen in the close-up photographs, the black cap dome has a small flaw / superficial mark near the upper clip ring, typical of its more than 80 years of history, which does not affect the solidity or the functioning of the cap closure. Nib: In magnificent condition, clean and with the tines perfectly aligned. Mechanics: The lever seats perfectly. (Note: the original inner rubber sac may require replacement for daily optimal use. Includes no original case). Shipping The item will be carefully protected and securely packaged, with insured shipping and an international tracking number.
