This painting presents a rural landscape of intense colors, in which several houses appear grouped among lush trees and rolling fields. The nearest dwelling occupies the bottom right and stands out for its light walls, orange-reddish roofs and its small dark windows. Around it other houses are discerned, partially hidden among the vegetation, suggesting the presence of a small village. The constructions, of simple and cozy shapes, seem to integrate with the surroundings and are surrounded by a landscape full of movement and color. The trees occupy a large part of the composition and raise the gaze toward the sky. Their canopies, rounded and abundant, are formed with different greens, from light and yellowish tones to darker and bluish shades. The trunks and branches, drawn with sinuous lines, connect the masses of foliage and provide a sense of continuous growth. The vegetation seems to envelop the houses and protect them, creating an intimate space in which the village is sheltered among the trees. In the foreground extends a terrain divided into irregular bands of greens, reds, blues and violets. The wavy lines run across the field like paths, furrows or parcels that lead to the houses. This treatment of the ground adds rhythm to the scene and contrasts with the rounded shapes of the canopies. The viewer can visually travel along those bands of color from the bottom to the center of the painting, where the buildings and trees form the heart of the landscape. The sky offers one of the most striking aspects of the work. It is covered with broad and curved clouds, among which blue, pink, coral and violet mix. These shapes seem to swirl around the canopies, as if the air were moving or the day were changing light. The chromatic intensity of the sky contrasts with the greens of the trees and gives the whole a cheerful and almost fantastic character. The scene preserves the reference to a recognizable landscape, but transforms it into a personal, vibrant, and energetic vision. Overall, the painting evokes a small rural village immersed in an exuberant landscape, with welcoming houses, lush trees and fields of undulating colors. The combination of lively tones and curved shapes conveys a sense of vitality, imagination and freedom. The sky seems to accompany the movement of the trees and the terrain, so that every part of the composition shares the same luminous atmosphere. It is an image that invites contemplation of nature as a place full of life and to discover a everyday world transformed by color.
