Vintage Figural Woodblock Print, Japanese, After Hashiguchi Goyo, Mid Century

This is a vintage figural woodblock print. A Japanese, washi paper reproduction after the original by Hashiguchi Goyō, dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1950. Titled (also known as Woman Bathing or Yokujō no onna), a famous 1915 colour woodblock print by the Japanese shin-hanga artist Hashiguchi Goyō (1880–1921). His estate recreated the original woodblocks in the mid 20th century, after the originals were lost to fire shortly after his passing. This is a fascinating vintage figural woodblock print, being an official reproduction of the limited, 100 edition run of 1915, skilfully recreated into woodblock by the artist's estate.
