Gorgeous Art Nouveau Vide-Poche / Oatmeal-shaped decorative bowl with Water Nymph – Alexandre Vibert A splendid and authentic Art Nouveau decorative bowl (vide-poche) designed by the well-known French sculptor Alexandre Vibert (1847-1909), made around 1900. The bowl showcases a beautifully finely detailed high relief of a rising water nymph (Naïade) from the waves of the sea, with a rising sun and organic cloud formations in the background. This dynamic and undulating design is typical of the heyday of French Art Nouveau. Artist: Alexandre Vibert (1847-1909) Period: Around 1900 Style: Art Nouveau / Jugendstil Material: Tin / silver-plated alloy Signature: Clearly visible signed "A. Vibert" on the front, at the base of the relief. Condition: In good, original condition. The bowl has a beautiful, authentic patina that perfectly enhances the depth of the relief.
