Description: Item/Description: Antique Victorian three-piece silver-plated condiment or butter serving set, housed in its velvet-lined presentation case retailed by S. Smith & Son of 85 Strand, London. Set comprises a master butter knife featuring a carved mother-of-pearl handle, an intricately engraved floral and foliage silver-plated blade, paired with a matching pair of silver-plated shell-bowl butter or jam spoons. S. Smith & Son were prestigious 19th-century London jewelers and horologists celebrated as makers to the Admiralty and the Indian Government, retailing elite personal and dining luxury wares during the height of the British Empire. (Thomas & William Simpson, Samuel Fenton & William Staniforth, Victorian Silverplate Flatware, S Smith and Son Strand London, Antique English Cutlery, British Silverware) Material: Silver Plate, Mother-of-Pearl Dimensions: Knife: Length: 7 3/8".
