Victor Vasarely (1906-1997) - Oeuvre cinétique - Vega 222...

Superb and very rare highly colorful optical silkscreen print titled Vega 222. Title: Vega 222 Artist: Victor Vasarely Technique: silkscreen print Style: Op art Signature: signed and numbered in pen Medium: 42 x 40 cm Condition: Excellent condition. Minor foxing "Vasarely inherited the metaphysical passion of his predecessors and pushed their theories to their ultimate consequences. First, he gives a new meaning to the work: he fights against 'the myth of the unique piece' and wants the artwork to be multiplicable, reproducible, without losing the beauty of the original. His ideal is the prefabricated multiple masterwork: 'I keep all my small-format originals. I make table-function works, table-function works for exhibitions, wall functions, fresco, stained glass, tapestry. I increase by one dimension and develop my abstractions in space…' Going further, I ensure on the screen the harmony of movement and time..." [Imbre Pan]
