While icons like Banksy use stencils and spray paint to deliver sharp social commentary, and Invader pieces together pixelated ceramic mosaics, Vhils takes a radically opposite approach: he carves into the city itself. Using jackhammers, chisels, and even explosives, he strips away layers of plaster and brick to reveal striking, poetic portraits hidden within weathered walls.
