made of silver, circular in shape. The rim is decorated with fillets. The wing is engraved with a coat of arms. Hallmarks: Premier Coq 1st standard, Paris, 1798–1809, and a silversmith’s mark on one: Jean-Pierre CHARPENAT (registered in 1801, previously admitted as a master silversmith in 1782). The wings are engraved with the combined coat of arms of Charles Boullet, known as Boullet de Varennes, and his wife, née Virginie de Bray (who married in 1817), beneath a count’s crown. Diameter: 27.8 and 27.1 cm Total weight: 1433 g (showing normal wear and scratches, sold as is).
