TWO AKAN KODUOO TRIPOD POTS WITH COVERS

Ca. 19th - 20th century AD > A group of two Akan kuduo covered vessels with rounded bodies raised on three legs. The exteriors carry relief decoration, and each domed cover is surmounted by a sculptural finial. Kuduo were valued possessions of Akan rulers and courtiers, used to hold gold dust, nuggets and other important belongings.
