Tracy Cano García - Aurora Borealis / XL

Unique work Series: Fragments of Winter Title: Aurora Borealis Technique: acrylic / canvas Finish with varnish Year: 2026 / August AURORA BOREALIS, part of the FRAGMENTS OF WINTER series, offers an abstract interpretation of the aurora borealis through the overlapping of shapes, planes and textures. The large fields of turquoise blue and deep blue evoke the night sky and the cold northern atmosphere, while areas of white, powder pink and greenish gray suggest the changing movement of the lights in the sky. Curved and undulating forms traverse the composition like currents of light, contrasting with more rigid geometric structures that fragment the landscape and create different levels of depth. The work does not aim to represent the aurora borealis literally, but to convey its sensation of movement, mystery and transformation. The contrasts between dark and luminous surfaces recall the phenomenon of lights appearing and fading over the winter landscape, while the painterly textures add an atmospheric and almost tactile dimension. In this dialogue between geometry and organic shapes, AURORA BOREALIS turns the landscape into a fragmented and evocative experience, where winter, light and memory meet in a space suspended between the real and the imagined. The FRAGMENTS OF WINTER series explores the landscape from a contemporary perspective, combining geometric structures, color planes, and references to the natural environment to build fragmented and atmospheric spaces. The works arise from the relationship between nature and structure, between the recognizable and the abstract, offering a vision of the landscape filtered through the particular atmosphere of the winter season. Throughout the series, geometric forms coexist with elements inspired by the winter landscape, such as branches, organic strokes, and small shapes that appear and disperse across the different planes. These elements evoke vegetation at rest, exposed branches, and the stillness characteristic of this time of year. The landscape is not presented as a complete image nor as a literal representation, but as a visual construction formed by fragments, impressions and memories. Color plays a fundamental role in the series. Deep blue, blue-gray, off-white, powder pink and black build a cool and restrained palette, inspired by the light and atmosphere typical of winter. The contrasts between dark surfaces and light areas create depth and rhythm, while the various chromatic regions relate to one another, creating a sense of continuity and balance. AUTHENTICITY Each work is hand-signed on the back of the canvas, keeping the painted surface clean and without altering its visual composition. The signature includes the title of the work and the series, the year and month of creation, dimensions, technique and the name and signature of TRACY CANO GARCÍA. The work is delivered with an Authenticity Certificate (COA) confirming authorship and authenticity. NOTE ABOUT IMAGES Photographs have been taken aiming to represent the work with the highest possible fidelity. The renders showing the work in different spaces are AI Visualizations. Nevertheless, small differences in color, contrast or tonalities may be observed compared to the original, due to lighting conditions during shooting and to the configuration and characteristics of each screen. These variations do not affect the actual appearance of the work. SHIPPING INFORMATION The work will be carefully shipped rolled in a tube, ensuring proper protection during transport. This method also helps reduce packaging volume and enable safer, more efficient shipping. The tube has been reused from a local textile shop, contributing to a more sustainable packaging solution. The canvas has an additional margin of about 5 cm on each side to facilitate subsequent mounting or re-stretching on a frame. This operation may be performed by the buyer or by a specialized professional.
