Tobermory 15 years old Marsala Finish - Cask Strength - 70cl

The Tobermory 15 Year Old Marsala Finish (56.2% ABV) is a highly limited, cask-strength single malt Scotch whisky released by the Tobermory Distillery in 2017. Matured for 14 years in traditional oak casks and finished for its final year in Italian Marsala wine casks, this expression was limited to a global run of just 1,200 bottles. As an un-chillfiltered, natural-color release bottled straight from the cask, it is highly regarded for its fascinating contrast between the distillery's rugged coastal spirit and the sweet influence of Sicilian fortified wine. Flavor Profile & Tasting Notes According to a consensus of enthusiasts on r/Scotch and expert reviews on platforms like Whiskybase, the whisky features a deeply complex and slightly unorthodox character: • Nose: A unique blend of coastal funk and deep sweetness. Expect overripe orchard fruits, strawberries, and marzipan clashing with savory notes of leather, cured meats, and earthy sea air. • Palate: Full-bodied, syrupy, and vinous. A strong wave of sweetness from dark honey and dried fruits quickly gives way to intense maritime salt and sharp, peppery spices like gingerbread, cumin, and liquorice. • Finish: Exceptionally long and drying. It closes with a true battle between sweet and salty, leaving lingering notes of malt chocolate, bitter orange, woodsmoke, and flinty rock salt.
