全部拍賣 / Furniture, Design & Mirrors / Terrestrial Globe - Mang / Prof. Dr. Stricker, Stuttgart - 1935
Globe Mang’s Neuer Erd-Globus, Prof. Dr. Stricker, Stuttgart, ca. 1935 Rare and captivating terrestrial globe “Mang’s Neuer Erd-Globus” with a diameter of 17 cm (54 cm circumference), second edition (IIte Auflage), published in Stuttgart by Ad. Mang’s Geographisch-Astronomischer Verlag and produced under the scientific supervision of Prof. Dr. Stricker, as clearly stated in the central cartouche. This 17 cm version represents the rarer format compared to standard models and is particularly sought after for its compact size and refined execution. The elegant and well-balanced typographic cartouche enhances the overall character of the piece and reflects the high editorial standards of German production of the period. The globe remains in good overall condition, showing an age-consistent patina with some signs and light staining on the map surface that do not affect readability but rather testify to its authenticity and history. The metal stand has undergone a careful conservation restoration that has strengthened its structure without altering its appearance or functionality, allowing the globe to rotate smoothly and correctly. The turned oak base incorporates a graduated sundial of great charm and a working compass inset into the platform, features that enhance both the scientific and decorative value of the piece, making it not only a geographical instrument but also a refined and highly collectible historical object for enthusiasts of antique cartography and scientific instruments. Diameter: 17 cm Height: 31 cm German language
