Table mirror- Napoleon III - Bronze - Relief of Lions

apoleon III-style gilded bronze dressing mirror from the 19th century, a piece that faithfully reflects the taste for ornamental richness and the opulence characteristic of the Second French Empire. Its structure features an elegant vertical swiveling mirror, supported by a delicate, richly decorative framework with scrolls, acanthus leaves, floral motifs, and Rococo-inspired elements intertwining in a dynamic and refined composition. The frame, with a serpentine outline and cut profile, is enhanced by lush relief decoration that runs over its entire surface, culminating in a theatrical, highly expressive pediment at the top. The side supports, carved and curvilinear, contribute visual lightness to the ensemble while allowing the mirror to tilt, combining function and aesthetic sophistication. The base, of great sculptural richness, rests on molded feet and stands out for its reliefs of lion heads, a traditional symbol of strength, nobility, and power, a motif recurrent in decorative arts of the Napoleon III period. These mascarons integrate with vegetal and finely chiseled ornamental motifs, giving depth and character to the design. The warm gilding of the bronze highlights the meticulousness of the details and creates attractive plays of light on the reliefs. The glass retains the charm typical of antique pieces, with the marks of time that accentuate its authenticity and historical value. This is a decorative piece with great presence, ideal to complete a dressing table, a chest of drawers, or a console, bringing the refinement and opulence of 19th-century French furniture to any classic, eclectic, or historically inspired interior.
