Table lamp - Gold plated - ECLYPSIS — Brutalist Scul

ECLYPSIS An Eclipse Captured in Matter. An original sculptural lighting piece, signed GM. ECLYPSIS is a sculptural lamp inspired by the timeless fascination of the sun, transforming light into an almost mystical presence. A golden disc emerges behind a silver-toned conical form, evoking a celestial body suspended in the fleeting moment when light meets shadow. At its centre, a luminous source awakens the golden surface, creating warm, deep reflections that shift with the viewer's perspective. The character of ECLYPSIS lies in the contrast between pure geometric forms and richly textured surfaces. Its silver-toned finish evokes the tactile presence of metal, with an irregular, expressive texture that captures and reflects light in ever-changing ways. Inside the reflector, a gold-leaf finish adds warmth and depth, intensifying the dialogue between light, shadow and material. A signature to be discovered by touch The initials GM are rendered in Braille and integrated into the surface of the conical structure. Rather than a conventional signature, they introduce a tactile dimension to the piece: the author's identity is not only seen, but invited to be discovered through touch. The raised dots become a discreet yet meaningful detail, connecting authorship, material and sensory experience. The signature is not merely an addition to the object; it forms part of its artistic language. Even the switching mechanism follows the same design philosophy. Separate from the lamp, the conical control unit echoes its geometric silhouette and features a metal switch on top. A functional element becomes a small sculptural object in its own right, extending the visual coherence of the design beyond the lamp itself. ECLYPSIS exists at the intersection of lighting and sculpture. Its brutalist character, metallic textures and celestial inspiration give it a strong visual presence, transforming its surroundings even when the light is switched off. A small luminous architecture in which silver meets gold, geometry meets texture, and matter becomes the protagonist.
