Exceptional American-Produced Pattern 10 Cash (t) CHINA. Honan. Brass 10 Cash Pattern, ND (1905). New Jersey (Ferracute) Mint. Kuang-hsu (Guangxu). PCGS SPECIMEN-63. CL-HON.12; KM-Y-108A.3A. Struck in the United States from dies engraved by then-chief engraver of the U.S. Mint, Charles E. Barber, this scintillating pattern issue displays brassy-olive surfaces that take up a somewhat deeper nature as one approaches the peripheries. The overall strike is quite sharp and resounding, with vibrant areas of brilliance further enlivening the devices. Very seldom encountered, the present piece may be considered EXCEEDINGLY RARE on account of its eye appeal and advanced state of preservation, and is bested in the PCGC census by a mere two other examples.
