Enthralling Fantasy Featuring Yuan Shih-kai as Emperor (t) CHINA. Fantasy "Hung-hsien" Silver Dollar, "CD (1916)" (ca. early-mid 20th Century). NGC MS-62. K-B43; KMX-M1345; WS-1349-34. Weight: 27.2 gms. An intriguing "cyclically dated" fantasy issue that would correspond to Yuan Shih-kai's very brief Hung-hsien empire of 1916, this nearly-Choice example offers great brilliance across the lightly toned fields. A VERY RARE offering that is seldom seen, regardless of the two appearances in this particular sale. Regarding its popularity, a PCGS AU-55 in our December 2021 CCO (Lot # 42328) realized a total of $18,000. Elegantly toned, with a great deal of lustrous brilliance abounding throughout. Estimate: $10,000 - $20,000. Provenance: From the Yang Ai Hao Collection. Ex: Heritage 3009 (4/2010) Lot # 21122. To view all items from the Yang Ai Hao Collection, click here.
