Exceptionally Rare Yuan Shih-kai "Tall Hat" Copper 10 Cash (t) CHINA. 10 Cash, ND (ca. 1912-14). Wuchang Mint. PCGS MS-64 Brown. KM-Pn5; CL-MG.62; CCC-688. Already a VERY RARE and seldom encountered type, this wondrous specimen parallels the "tall hat" series of coinage from the early republic and very brief restitution of imperial China (as the Hung-hsien era), this near-Gem abounds with rich red-brown hues and an inviting lustrous brilliance across the somewhat matte surfaces. The first instance of the type in one of our sales since our April 2018 Hong Kong Auction, a PCGS MS-62 Brown from the Bowers/White Collection that realized a hammer of $16,500 (Lot # 40300). Estimate: $20,000 - $40,000. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
