THE WORK "D1OS: The Iconography of Myth" represents a perfect bridge between classical statuary and digital New Pop Art. The work reinterprets the figure of Diego Armando Maradona not only as a sporting hero but as a true contemporary deity, crystallized in a gilded bust that recalls the aesthetics of numismatics and imperial celebration. The geometric contrast is clear and calculated: the black frame encloses a minimalist neutral-toned background, designed specifically to bring out the three-dimensionality of the sculpture. The bust, physically detached from the background’s two-dimensionality, captures the light thanks to a vibrant metallic-gold finish, symbolizing the immortality of myth.
