The sculpture, about 50 cm high, impresses in particular with its plastic modeling, the harmonious composition of the Madonna with the child lovingly pressed to her, and the extremely detailed rendering of faces, hair, hands and the richly dynamic drapery. Mary is depicted in a magnificently draped garment. The Christ Child is lovingly held by her and embraces Mary with his arms. The entire composition possesses remarkable spatial depth and a very lively, dynamic form language. Particularly noteworthy: the original historic finish A very special feature of this sculpture is the old polychrome finish preserved over the entire figure with authentic aging crackle.
