Suar Bu Thuma bracelet with Tripoli hallmarks - Total...

Beautiful and very interesting marks from Tripoli, Libya. “Locally it is known by the name Suar Bu Thuma and bears the initials (p.uw.) (M.S.) which probably stand for "Mabruk Shakshuki" who officially represented the Municipality of Tripoli, and who normally controlled the quality before stamping any piece for sale, and who in turn was a silversmith. This type of bracelet was used outside the cities and could also be found in Egypt, particularly in the Siwa Oasis area. It has come to us in excellent condition, preserving its excellent craftsmanship.” M.
