Studio Ghibli - The Tale of the Princess Kaguya (2013)...

Original Japanese B2 theatrical movie poster for The Tale of the Princess Kaguya (Kaguya-hime no Monogatari), directed by Isao Takahata and produced by Studio Ghibli. This beautiful poster features one of the most poetic artworks created for the film, showing Princess Kaguya surrounded by the hands of the bamboo cutter, against a delicate bamboo forest background. An especially interesting feature is the original Japanese release announcement at the bottom: “Summer 2013 – Nationwide Roadshow”. The film was initially scheduled for release in summer 2013 before its Japanese theatrical release was postponed to November 2013. The poster therefore represents the early promotional campaign for one of Studio Ghibli’s most acclaimed films and the final feature film directed by Isao Takahata. The artwork, with its delicate watercolour appearance and traditional Japanese aesthetic, makes this an especially attractive Ghibli poster for both cinema collectors and collectors of Japanese graphic art. Original Studio Ghibli and Japanese production markings are visible on the poster.
