This is a early post-ban Springfield Armory M1A rifle that is fitted with a GI type chrome lined barrel, HRA marked trigger group and operating rod with a standard prong type flash hider with bayonet lug and the standard front and rear sights. It is fitted with an unmarked GI, M14 type walnut stock with a stamped checkered buttplate. The left side has a very nice DOD cartouche with a excellent "P" proof in the grip area. It is fitted with an early, all solid walnut (unslotted) handguard. Currently the right side of the receiver has been fitted with a "Faux", non-functional, non-operative, M14 type selector switch and sear bar. The sear bar (only, not the switch itself) has been permanently attached to the receiver (via welding) to simulate and original M14 type rifle for display purposes only. It includes an original GI type cleaning rod and handle, pouch chamber brush, with a GI web sling.
