The crystals display an extraordinary adamantine/submetallic luster that reflects light intensely, showing fascinating and deep internal transparencies in a brown-reddish/honey color with orange reflections when illuminated directly. On the surface there are also small delicate light-colored crystals in contrast. • Locality: Las Manforas Mine, Áliva, Camaleño, Liébana region, Cantabria, Spain. Located in the spectacular scenery of the Picos de Europa, this mine is legendary among mineral collectors worldwide. It is universally recognized for producing the finest gem sphalerite crystals ever found on the planet.
