Spain. Isabel II. 40 Céntimos de Escudo 1865 - AU55

SPAIN. Madrid. 40 Céntimos de Escudo. 1865. Isabel II (1833-1868) - Value: 40 Céntimos de Escudo. - Reign: Isabel II (1833-1868). - Year: 1865. - Inscriptions: Obverse: ISABEL 2.ª POR LA G. DE DIOS Y LA CONST. · 1865. Reverse: REINA DE LAS ESPAÑAS · 40 CÉNTS. DE ESCUDO. - Grade: AU55 (GBCA). Silver coin of 40 Céntimos de Escudo minted at the Madrid mint during the reign of Isabel II, belonging to the monetary system prior to the final introduction of the peseta. The obverse shows the portrait of the queen looking to the right, rendered in a neoclassical style with finely modeled features and hair gathered and adorned with a laurel crown. The reverse presents the crowned coat of arms of Spain quartered with castles and lions, accompanied by the denomination and the royal legend. The specimen preserves a notable degree of detail in the main elements, with very light wear at the highest relief points, in line with the AU55 grade. The fields retain abundant original luster and an attractive uniform silver tone, with small, insignificant circulation marks. This is a historically relevant piece from the late years of Isabel II's reign, issued in a period of deep political and monetary transformations in Spain. Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to leave absolutely clear that I do ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside EU that has special tax agreement (example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped in your local customs and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and it is completely out of our control. Thanks for your understanding.
