Societa Argenterie Posaterie - Perfume flask - .800 silver

Elegant and imposing Italian Art Deco perfume bottle, dating presumably from the 1920s–1930s. The bottle is made of thick colorless crystal/glass, entirely worked with a remarkable geometric decoration typical of Art Deco: broad faceted planes, matte-finished fan motifs, and deep engraved lines forming a highly graphic composition. It is topped with a superb matching faceted cap, echoing the same geometric decoration as the body of the bottle. The collar mount is in solid silver at 800‰, clearly bearing the marks “800” and “SIAP.” SIAP corresponds to the Società Argenterie Posaterie, a major silverware manufacturer established in Alessandria, Piedmont, Italy, already listed in the official directory of Italian silversmiths and goldsmiths from 1924. (Formerly Barbaris - Pietrasanta). Very good overall condition, a micro chip on the tip of the cap barely perceptible, as well as a microscopic one on the bottle almost invisible (see last photo).
