Skelly Supreme Gas Pump Globe

Made in U.S.A. 1946 - 1956. Two reverse baked glass lenses. Milk glass narrow body. This Skelly supreme gas pump globe represents Skelly's premium fuel tier just before the "Keotane" chemical era took over in 1956. The text "Supreme” explicitly designated this as Skelly's high-test, premium-grade fuel during the early post-WWII automotive boom. It was formulated with higher octane ratings to cater specifically to the powerful, high-compression overhead-valve V8 engines hitting the market in the late 1940s and 1950s. Unmarked. All items are guaranteed authentic by Miller & Miller Auctions. From the Barry Yorgason Collection.
