SKE - The Ghost Hunter - 02/10 - 2020s

SKE - "The Ghost Hunter" - 02/10 Ultra-limited edition of only 10 copies. There was a time when a few pixels, four ghosts and a handful of lives were enough to make the heart beat faster. Pac-Man never really left the game. With The Ghost Hunter, SKE propels one of arcade’s greatest icons into a much more urban, raw, and contemporary universe. Pac-Man pops into the foreground, pursued or perhaps now a hunter by the famous ghosts who have marked generations of players. The “Level 1”, the pixelated skull and the graphic codes borrowed from video games immediately establish that familiar sensation: those first rounds, arcade cabinets, and that very simple obsession... to squeeze out one more life. But here, nostalgia refuses to stay tame. SKE confronts retro pixel aesthetics with the blotches, projections, black shapes, and spontaneous gestures of street art. Electric pink, turquoise, yellow and red burst over a deliberately patinated background, as if a memory of the arcade years had been ripped from a screen to end up directly on a city wall. This dissonance is the source of the piece’s strength: a reference instantly recognizable, yet sufficiently subverted to become a true contemporary collectible artwork. SKE’s signature marks The Ghost Hunter as part of a cohesive body of work where pop culture, collective memory, and urban language meet without ever slipping into mere derivative product. Because some walls need decoration. Others deserve an icon. Artist: SKE Instagram artist SKE: ske_shakeyourart Format: A2 Art print on museum-grade Hahnemühle paper Technique used: digital painting (Procreate - AI - Photoshop) Edition: 02/10 Artwork sold unframed - FRAMING TIPS Your artwork is shipped rolled and protected in a tube. Upon receipt, remove it gently and place it flat for 48 to 72 hours so it naturally regains its shape before framing. ISO formats (A3, A2, A1…) are very easy to frame with standard frames available in hardware or decor stores. Personally, I use Leroy Merlin aluminum frames: simple, elegant and economical, they perfectly showcase the works. - ARTIST BIO: SKE is a self-taught French artist and all-around creator who grew up with the culture of the 80s/90s, inspiring a large portion of his artistic works. He continually explores new techniques: acrylic painting, collage, stencils, graffiti, urban installations, and digital art. His dynamic and expressive compositions, often with a double meaning, blend the raw energy of street art with the visual impact of pop art. After an exceptional year in 2025, SKE’s market value has risen noticeably. Winner of the first prize in the Urban Master contest (2023), then chosen as Revelation of the Year at the Color Jam Challenge (2025). SKE was selected as "Artist of the Month" by the Opulence gallery in October, and he also benefited from a feature in an American art magazine confirming his international recognition. His works have already been shown in major venues in Europe, the United States, and Asia, solidifying his place on the contemporary art scene. In parallel, SKE has also established himself in the digital artwork market, a major trend in the last two years, strengthening the appeal of his creations among collectors. Icons of popular culture, bold graphics, and texture play define a style that is now essential. SKE is undoubtedly an artist to follow, to start or enrich a collection with growing value. Awarded & Ranked Artist – Pop Art & Contemporary Street Art A UNIVERSE BETWEEN HERITAGE AND MODERNITY The work of SKE fits into a prestigious lineage. His line carries the visual efficiency of Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, while incorporating the subversion of Banksy or pioneering artist Blek le Rat. His works create a bridge between eras: they revisit the classics, not hesitating to rework Vinci’s Mona Lisa, Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring, Hokusai’s The Great Wave, or Picasso’s deconstructed forms to confront them with a modern urban aesthetic akin to Mr Brainwash or Kaws. POP CULTURE & NOSTALGIA Drawing from the collective imagination, SKE manipulates icons from our childhood. He envisions the Disney universe with figures like Mickey or Pinocchio, and the symbolic greed of Scrooge McDuck. The influence of gaming, comics, and graphic novels is omnipresent: from the Nintendo universe and the legendary Game Boy, to Pokémon creatures (Pikachu, Charizard, Ash), via Marvel Super Heroes. SKE crystallizes these memories in the manner of Daniel Arsham or Takashi Murakami. LUXURY, HYPE & CONSUMER SOCIETY In a style that sometimes evokes Alec Monopoly, the artist plays with codes of success and materialism. The Dollar symbol sits beside the logos of luxury and fashion giants. His canvases capture the “Hype” aesthetic: sneaker culture (Nike Air Jordan, Adidas, Off-White) and haute couture (Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Louboutin). He also incorporates automotive adrenaline (Ferrari, Porsche, Bugatti, AMG) and precision watchmaking (Rolex, Tag Heuer), not to mention mass consumer icons like Coca-Cola. It is vibrant art, with textured finishes evoking the glossy surface of Jeff Koons or the facets of Richard Orlinski. This piece is ideal for enriching a collection or adding a dynamic touch to your home. Instagram artist SKE: ske_shakeyourart
