Silver - Bangle - Rashaida / Yemen

An impressive and solidly crafted traditional silver cuff bracelet from the mid-20th century (circa 1950), typical of the renowned silversmithing of Yemen as well as the Bedouin tribes of the Rashaida on the Arabian Peninsula. The piece is richly decorated with elaborate filigree work, corded wires, fine granulation, and floral pattern embossing. At the center of the design is the characteristic, prominently raised closing part. With a substantial total weight of approximately 152.6 g, it is a particularly heavy and solid collectible. The outer diameter is about 10.5 to 11 cm, the inner diameter measures about 5.5 cm, and the width is roughly 2.5 to 3 cm. The cuff is in very good antique condition with a beautiful, untouched patina of age and slight signs of wear that perfectly underline its authentic historical character.
