SEEN FROM ITALY 1841–1941 — ITALIAN PHOTOGRAPHY IN THE COLLECTIONS OF THE ALINARI MUSEUM Seen from Italy 1841–1941. Italian Photography in the Collections of the Alinari Museum. Paris, Pavillon des Arts / Paris Musées - Alinari, [1990s]. Large quarto, paperback, illustrated photographic cover with flaps, abundant black-and-white and sepia photographic illustrations. A catalog dedicated to a century of Italian photography, drawn from the extensive historical collections of the Fratelli Alinari. The volume brings together works by Italian pioneers and major studios of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Among the photographers featured are Domenico Bresolin, Antonio Perini, Alfred Noack, and Robert Rive. Cityscapes, monuments, landscapes, street scenes, trades, and portraits compose a particularly rich panorama of photographic Italy between 1841 and 1941. This publication is of interest both for the history of photography and for Italian social history and iconography. Condition: generally good; cover shows some scuffing and scratches from normal use, with minor marks on the corners. Publisher’s label on the back cover. Interior is clean.
