全部拍賣 / Ethnographic / Sea Snail Sea shell - S-611 MUREX PECTEN (No reserve price)
For sale is a unique specimen of the Murex pecten shell (commonly known as the Venus Comb Murex) measuring 110 mm. This species is among the most iconic and sought-after by collectors due to its extremely intricate construction and delicate, long spines. Most importantly, this particular specimen is offered with the original operculum (lid). Finding a Murex pecten shell with a preserved operculum on the secondary market is rare, making this set a highly valuable trophy for advanced conchologists. The spines are well preserved (only the siphon is slightly damaged), and the whole structure displays natural, bright coloration. The siphon is slightly damaged. Ideal piece for a Wunderkammer or a prestigious marine collection. Dimensions - 45/55/105 mm. Due to the extremely delicate structure of the spines, the shell will be packed in an absolutely armored and specialized manner to prevent any movement inside the carton. Shipping with tracking number. Strongly recommended for collectors and interior decorators.
