The Virgin is represented at the center of the composition, suspended above the globe, while she tramples a serpent, symbol of original sin and of the triumph of good over evil. Around the Marian figure are arranged angels and cherubs, immersed in a heavenly atmosphere characterized by clouds and golden luminosity. The composition presents a monumental, late Baroque staging, with particular attention to gesture, movement of the drapery, and the scenographic construction of space.
