Schlitz Beer Olive Drab Cone Top WITHDRAWN FREE 183-27 TOUGH

Brewer/Business Name: Jos. Schlitz Brewing Co., Milwaukee, WisconsinManufacturer/Plant: Continental Can Co.Date of manufacture: circa 1940sUSBC reference: 183-27 Contents/Type: 12 ozDimensions: 2-3/4 w x 5 h. Comments/description: Pretty nice example of this OD label. Very little humidity and contrast is strong so it is readily identifiable. Even the spout is clean with just a light patina. Sometime in its life it looks like an owner attempted to clean the dried beer (or ?) from the front and scoured heavily enough to remove the drab lacquer color around those areas. Another possibility is that the substance is caustic or acidic and it chemically faded or removed the paint surrounding it. In any case, those are the only notable blemishes on this otherwise wonderful find. All items are original unless otherwise noted.
