Superb and rare set of 7 historical porcelain figurines from Saxony depicting Emperor Napoleon I surrounded by his most illustrious Marshals and generals of the Grande Armée. These high‑quality pieces were made by the prestigious German manufactory Scheibe-Alsbach (Thuringia). The underside of each base bears the official blue intertwined “S” mark as well as the inscription “Made in GDR,” which allows precise dating of their manufacture between 1962 and 1972 (Kister period, before the factory’s total nationalization). List of the 7 included figures: 1. Napoleon I (in his famous gray frock coat) 2. Marshal Murat (King of Naples, in formal dress trimmed with fur) 3. Marshal Ney ("The Bravest of the Brave") 4. Marshal Lannes (Duke of Montebello) 5. Prince Eugène de Beauharnais (Viceroy of Italy) 6. General Bertrand (Grand Marshal of the Palais) 7. General Lepic (Commander of the Horse Grenadiers) Features & Condition: • Height: 15 cm • Finish: Polychrome decorations entirely hand-painted with magnificent detail on the uniforms, highlighted in gold on Empire-style pedestals. • Condition: Excellent overall display condition. Colors are very fresh, the porcelain is sound with no cracks or major restorations (see the numerous photos for details of the backs and bases). Shipped well protected
