全部拍賣 / Photographs / Sandro Becchetti - Jorge Luis Borges – Ritratto fotografico
An intense black-and-white portrait of Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges, photographed by Italian photographer Sandro Becchetti. Borges is photographed up close, absorbed in a conversation or public appearance. The tight framing, strong contrast and visible grain concentrate attention on his expression and facial features, creating an image far removed from conventional official portraiture. Active as a photojournalist from the second half of the 1960s, Sandro Becchetti became particularly known for his portraits of writers, artists, filmmakers and leading cultural figures of the twentieth century. His portraits frequently capture their subjects through an unguarded gesture, glance or expression. The photographer’s stamp on the reverse documents the attribution of the print. The photograph will be shipped flat, protected with an anti-humidity envelope and rigid cardboard, by tracked shipment.
