Sagrasse (1966) - Art Attack

Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born 1966) is a Marche-based artist whose life is rooted in skilled craftsmanship. For forty years he has worked in the shadow of his workshop in a small municipality among the hills of Marche, specializing at the highest levels in resin work, painting, and chroming. The turning point in his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and suspended time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always harbored. What for decades had been “only” a technique of excellence thus becomes the means to bring to life modern, vibrant, and ironic pop sculptures. Today Sagrasse has transformed his know-how as a craftsman into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent. Title - Art attack Technique: resin Dimensions: 34x13x8 cm Condition: new Certificate of authenticity - handwritten signature Edition: limited edition 499ex - red Message and interpretation: "Art Attack" celebrates one of the painter’s fundamental tools, the tube of color, dedicating the work to it. The artist wanted to emphasize the importance of this simple instrument, essential for artistic creation, and pay homage to the creative process. The work underlines the idea that everyday objects can be transformed into art and become symbols of expression and creativity. Context and inspiration: Created during a period of growing appreciation for artists’ work and the creative process, the piece reflects the importance of recognizing and valuing the tools that allow artists to express themselves. The choice to depict an open tube of color symbolizes the beginning of the creative process and the infinite potential of artistic imagination. The work will be carefully packed and shipped by courier with tracking. In recent years his work has received important public and private recognitions, culminating in participation in prestigious exhibitions. Highlights include participation in the Contemporary Art Exhibition "Arte Venezia" in 2025, collaboration with the VERUM Center for Art and Culture, and inclusion of his works in the renowned private collection Fuser. From craftsman to signatory of the Neo-Pop panorama, Sagrasse demonstrates how a lifetime of experience can transform into pure and recognized artistic expression. Sagrasse is not simply an artist who uses resin; he is a master craftsman who has freed the technique from the constraint of function, putting it at the service of imagination. His works are colorful mirrors reflecting our society: pop, bright, ironic, and irresistibly modern. Sagrasse’s work fits perfectly within the path of New Pop Art and Urban Art. While the comparison to Banksy is evident for the strong satirical charge, irony, and the ability to reinterpret icons of everyday life or pop culture in a critical key, Sagrasse’s universe closely dialogues with other giants of the international scene such as Jeff Koons, KAWS, Takashi Murakami, Mr. Brainwash, Richard Orlinski. The object is an exclusive creation by Sagrasse. It is a handmade work, conceived and produced entirely in Italy. The small imperfections that may be found are the natural characteristic of entirely manual workmanship. We recommend not exposing to heat sources; clean with only a soft cloth, do not use detergents.
