To achieve this result, an artisan spends about 12 hours to create each design on a lighter. The artisans layer gold powder of varying sizes, thereby creating highly complex designs. By adjusting the concentration and the different consistencies of the gold powder, they achieve a wide range of stunning effects, bringing to life unique details. Each piece of the Maki-e collection is meticulously handcrafted by skilled artisans, using precious materials such as mother-of-pearl, gold powder, and silver powder, making this collection truly one-of-a-kind. Due to the intricate handcrafted process, the production process takes a long time.
