Maunder Watch Co are pleased to offer this Rolex Explorer 40 Ref. 224270. Originally introduced in 1953 following Rolex’s involvement with the historic first successful ascent of Mount Everest, the Explorer has remained one of the brand’s most recognisable and understated professional watches. This latest-generation example features a 40mm Oystersteel case with a smooth bezel and the Explorer’s distinctive black dial, characterised by its iconic 3, 6 and 9 Arabic numerals. The Chromalight hour markers and hands provide excellent legibility, while the watch is fitted to a three-piece Oyster bracelet with Oysterlock clasp. Powered by Rolex’s automatic Calibre 3230, the Explorer offers approximately 70 hours of power reserve. Presented in excellent condition, this example is complete with its original box and paperwork, dated 2025.
