Refined ring made in 18 kt gold and silver, adorned with a natural sapphire from Ceylon in oval cut, surrounded by a corona of natural rose-cut diamonds. Features a natural untreated Sri Lankan sapphire of 5.20 ct estimated with a Gemological certificate from Cisgem attesting origin and naturalness of the sapphire. Natural sapphires are increasingly rare and precious in nature. 26 rose-cut diamonds totaling 0.75 ct estimated, of gem quality. The jewel features the typical mounting of European jewelry of the late 19th century, with the central stone set and surrounded by small rose-cut diamonds mounted in silver, a technique widely used in jewelry of the period to enhance the stones’ brilliance. The lower frame and shank are instead made in 18 kt gold, in keeping with the traditional gold–silver combination typical of 19th-century jewelry.
