Richard Lindner (Hamburg, November 1, 1901 – New York, April 16, 1978) was a Pop Art painter of German origin who became American. Lindner marked a turning point in North American Pop Art, due to his European origin and his way of enriching Pop with elements of Cubism and German Expressionism. He worked as an illustrator for the most important North American magazines of the time, such as Vogue, Vanity Fair, or Fortune.
