Renaissance Style Architectural ornament (3) - 1850-1900...

Antique architectural or structural panels: cross bars made of carved antique wood, featuring ornamental motifs typical of the Renaissance style. Ornamental function. High relief. They likely formed part of an apron, frieze, or upper/lower rail of a large piece of furniture (such as an armoire, bookcase, *bargueño* cabinet, or sideboard) or even the structure of a church altarpiece or architectural frame. Piece 1: 61 x 11 x 2 cm. Piece 2: 61 x 11 x 2 cm. Piece 3: 50 x 11 x 5 cm. Vegetal scrolls and acanthus leaves. Continuous, coiling curves predominate (stems and acanthus leaves in motion), a hallmark of classic French/Spanish/Italian Renaissance style or 19th-century Neo-Baroque historicism. Square rosettes with four peripheral perforations surrounding a central button—a geometric detail deeply rooted in traditional antique cabinetry. Solid wood. They display the grain and texture of traditional fine hardwoods (such as oak, chestnut, or walnut). Signs of age and cuts, evidence suggests they were disassembled or salvaged from a larger piece. There are clear losses and breaks at the wooden corners. Areas where the wood has lost its varnished or waxed finish, revealing the natural patina. Due to their elongated shape and architectural salvage character, they are commonly used as wall friezes or overdoor accents, toppers for mirrors or handcrafted frames, decorative shelf supports. Acceptable condition with noticeable signs of use and aging. Piece 3 is broken along one side (see detailed photographs). Signs of past insect activity (currently clean). Original pieces, unrestored (we are auctioning it in the same condition in which we acquired it). The items you will receive are the ones that has been photographed.
