Remarkable twisted-coin bracelet

Authentic and splendid semi-twisted currency bracelet (parade ring). Its form resembles the ethnic groups of Niger: Zarma/Djerma or Fulani. A detailed description will be provided later, but for now I am giving you a description of all 24 listings of objects whose provenance remains exceptional—a scientific treasure and a piece of primitivist art. Discover among my 24 listings a unique historic ensemble, left intact and preserved within my family for more than 70 years, because an elder member of my family worked at the prestigious Bureau of Geological and Mining Research (BRGM) during the 1950s. These pieces are part of a spectacular field collection. The collection is documented by its wooden transport chest with colonial BRGM Natitingou-Dahomey inscriptions, the former name of today’s Benin; it is also documented by an exceptional set of 26 geological maps with explanatory notes from surveys conducted between 1935 and 1961. You will find among my 24 sales an exceptional King Manilla weighing over 3.8 kg. Each lot (24 in total) is a fragment of this historic geological expedition. This rare bronze money bracelet features a superb nuanced patina; a high-end piece with its magnificent twisted helix body. It is richly hand-engraved with traditional complex geometric motifs: circles, friezes, grooves, guilloches. It weighs 689 grams with a diameter of 100 mm, making it a striking piece with character.
