Reggiani Illuminazione - Goffredo Reggiani - Lamp - Lily of the valley

Goffredo Reggiani – Model “Muguet” – Space Age three-armed floor lamp in Italy, 1970s Important and scenographic Italian Space Age floor lamp, model “Muguet,” designed by Goffredo Reggiani for Reggiani Illuminazione, dating from the Seventies. A particularly representative model of Italian design of the period, characterized by a slim and sculptural structure. From a tall central shaft, three long arched arms of different heights extend, independently adjustable, allowing the opening and the composition of the lamp to be freely modified. Each arm ends with a large adjustable metallic diffuser, with the distinctive ellipsoidal and slightly flattened shape, with a highly glossy gold exterior and white reflective interior. The parallel openings on the upper part of the diffusers constitute a refined technical and decorative detail, perfectly coherent with the Space Age language of the era. The structure is made of chromed metal with elements finished in glossy gold, overall preserved in excellent vintage condition. The substantial circular base internally incorporates a heavy iron ballast, which provides stability to the structure and to the three long arms. Thanks to its significant dimensions, its extremely slender profile and the possibility to independently orient both the three arms and the diffusers, the lamp can assume different configurations and becomes a true luminous sculpture with a strong architectural and decorative presence. Dimensions Maximum height: 205 cm Height of the intermediate arm: about 175 cm Height of the lowest arm: about 148 cm Height of the central shaft above the base: about 98 cm Base diameter: 30 cm Base height: 3 cm Diameter of each diffuser: 19 cm Height of each diffuser: 9 cm Number of arms/lights: 3 Total weight: about 10 kg The three arms are independently adjustable, as are the individual diffusers, allowing the configuration of the lamp to be modified according to space and desired lighting. Conditions The lamp is fully functional and in excellent vintage condition. The central shaft, base, arms and diffusers collectively retain a very glossy finish and are particularly well preserved. Only minimal signs consistent with age are present, including extremely slight variations in the finish and small darkenings at some points on the arms. Exclusively on the upper part of the diffuser placed on the highest arm, at about 205 cm from the floor, there are a few very tiny superficial scratches. Given their minimal entity and especially their very high position, they are essentially not visible during normal use of the lamp. Overall, considering the object's age, the lamp presents in excellent condition. The photographs are an integral part of the description and accurately document the condition of the object. Packaging and shipping Given the significant size and the particular structure, the lamp will be shipped partially disassembled only at the pre-arranged points, without altering the electrical wiring. The group of three arms will be freed from their fastenings and the arms, while remaining electrically connected, will be gathered, immobilized and protected individually, reducing bulk and preventing movements or contact between surfaces during transport. Diffusers, arms, shaft and the heavy base will be carefully protected with soft anti-shock materials, foam, and bubble wrap, with particular attention to the glossy metal surfaces. The entire lamp will finally be placed in a reinforced double box with appropriate internal protections to ensure as safe a transport as possible. Upon delivery only the simple reassembly of the components previously unscrewed will be necessary. Tracked shipping directly to the purchaser’s address or, where available, to the nearest pickup point.
